The Burger Centre
The Burger Centre is a day centre for elderly people living in their own homes in the Eastern Suburbs. The Centre which is located at 120 King St Randwick, is for the frail aged including those with special needs resulting from a stroke, dementia or other illness. The Centre can also offer valuable respite for carers of elderly people.
The Burger Centre provides the opportunity for clients to access a wide range of appropriately stimulating activities and programs including:
- Exercise and physical games. This may involve the use of the Eric Dreikurs Aquatic Centre
- Educational talks and discussions
- Arts and crafts
- Concerts and performances by professional musicians and entertainers
- Outings to local parks and beaches
- The Celebration of Jewish Festivals and cultural events
Burger Centre buses collect people from their own homes and drop them of again in the afternoon. While clients are at the Burger Centre they may be able to access a range of other JewishCare and Montefiore services.
Following an assessment by Burger Centre staff, an individual service plan will be developed that allows clients to get the best from The Burger Centre.
A small fee applies to Burger Centre attendance although those who cannot afford to pay will not be denied access to the Centre.
